The Best Memes About AI in 2023

Not the best memes created by AI mind you, but by real-life, living, breathing, hard-working, meme-creating, perpetually online, probably-your-secret-nemesis-on-Reddit actual human beings.

Is it a meme or is it the plot to next season’s “CSI”? We’ll count this as #1 on my list.

There I was tonight.

The year coming to an end.

Living my best life.

Testing out AI companion robots who won’t stop pinging me on Telegram to try to get me to pay to look at their hot AI pics by sending me a Stripe link…and I thought, you know what I love?

Humor.

And you know what the modern home run of humor is nowadays for the chronically online? That’s right: the ever-low-effort meme.

Funny. Bold. True.

So I’ve read 1,000s of them, I’ve judged the best, and I hereby present to you, the absolute best artificial intelligence memes of the year—the decade?—(that yes, are largely skewed to a single LLM model but let’s not get too hung up on that right now) presented for your derision and delight.

And remember: Want to meet human friends IRL using a fun AI hack? Easy.

  1. Go to a bar, church group, roller rink, what-have-you, hold up your phone and say, “Can I ask you a question…do you think this is funny?”

  2. Show meme.

  3. Either bask in the joy of your newfound flourishing human friendship OR do a little happy jig that a no-fun person has self-selected out, saved you the bother and move on to the next human. It works!

Ready for some memes? Yeah you are!
