Suddenly the wheels are in motion. And I, I’m ready to sail any ocean. Suddenly I don’t need the answers. ‘Cause I, I’m ready to take all my chances with you.

Today’s Rabbithole:

“You’re supposed to be an artist. Use your imagination!” the Greek goddess rollerskating muse Kira, portrayed by the angelically talented—and now a real angel—Olivia Newton-John tells the frustrated artist Sonny Malone (Michael Beck) in the classic 1980 E.L.O.-themetracked musical Xanadu.

“Thanks a lot, I’m all out,” Sonny tells Kira.

“You know,” she says, “I really think you believe that.”

When I was a little girl, I used to dance around my beige living room, swooping and dramatic and arms all akimbo, to the opening scenes of this movie like my very life depended on it.

Today I still do.
