This is a kind teacher. I didn’t know how to deal with this at the time, though. I was 8 or 9. But what a kind dude. I thanked him years ago on Facebook. I think he was weirded out. That’s okay, too.

I was always the kid who went inward.

I had incredibly close friendships, but I also knew that the way to escape everything was through application of myself.
